Buenos Aires
Sean and I successfully met up after long plane rides. In Sean's case he did a giant Z across the continents, from SF to Miami to Lima to Argentina. The scenic route. He arrived in tired, but mostly hungry, which helped drive our first mission to go find some Argentine steak. An English woman, Paula, tagged along with us and we walked around the neighborhood of San Telmo until we found a place with a little back garden. Matias had recomended that we try 'bife do chorizo' and 'asado de tira.' I'm not sure that he meant us to try it all at the same time though, which we did, along with a 'bife de lomo.' It was a lot of meat and the Argentines don't mess around, there are no garnishings along with the meat, just a plate of meat. It was very good though and this my way of *completely* ending the vegetarian life that I lived in India. Unfortunately Paula and I also polished off a bottle of red wine, and then another at the hostel. I say unfortunately because this morning I have a wee bit of a hangover.
