I lost my daypack last night, luckily with nothing more important in it other than our bus tickets to Iguazu. I still have the receipts for those, and I paid with credit card, so that is not so bad, but I'm still a little bummed because it was completely my stupidity. We were sitting down very late at night in the common area of the hostel, chatting with some Germans, drinking and having a good time. I had left the bag at the foot of the table and just forgot it when I was going upstairs, mostly because I was so exhausted. Sigh.
Apart from that yesterday was great. We wandered around Buenos Aires, starting near the Plaza de Mayo area where we did some museuming and then went to the central bank building. The rest of the day we did a *lot* of walking, used the metro for the first time and roped Paula in to help us buy our bus tickets (she speaks some Spanish.) After that we walked around the city a *lot* more, Buenos Aires is a good walking city, or well it might be if it wasn't so hot. We stopped off at a really great cafe Abril with extremely friendly bartenders that had us try an Italian alcohol Fetada, which tastes awful (although not so bad with coke.) After this we went to the police station to help Paula file a stolen item complaint, wandered around the city more, back to the hostel and then drank chatted and played a drinking game previously called 'buzz', now renamed 'shagwanking', until the wee hours.
We are going to see a soccer game today Boca Jr vs Newells and then right after that we have the 18 hour bus ride to Iguazu, I think we might be pretty destroyed by the end of it.
